Welcome to Big Sea House! The property started life as part of a hotel. It is designed to be full of people and we hope that our guests will fill it with lots of fun and laughter while you stay!
The house has been continually renovated since its introduction to the holiday rental market, and it is meant to be homely and comfortable so that you can relax and enjoy yourselves by the sea.
Victorian charm, panoramic sea views
Big Sea House is a large seaside holiday home in Ilfracombe sleeping 16 and overlooking the harbour, it is ideal for holidays and special family occasions. BSH has been continually renovated since its introduction to the holiday rental market in April 2008 and it retains some of its original Victorian features as we have looked to upgrade without losing its character. It is meant to be homely and comfortable so that you can relax and enjoy yourselves by the sea.
BSH is situated on historic Larkstone Terrace, it is perched up high above the working harbour of Ilfracombe. BSH offers phenomenal panoramic views across the harbour, sea and beautiful national park. It's architectural charm reflects its Victorian heritage with tall ceilings, large sash windows and chandeliers.
Less than ten minutes walk downhill behind the house and you are in the harbour itself. It's a working harbour so there are plenty of facilities and things going on and Damien Hirst's Verity statue which you can see from the lounge windows.

The contemporary lounge has breath-taking views across the ocean. The large family area also has a Sky TV box, DVDs and a library area providing you with large amounts of entertainment during your stay.
The ballroom
The ballroom on the floor below is grandly decorated with full length curtains, a grand piano and has a beautiful chandelier. The ballroom table seats all 16 people providing the perfect venue for a special occasion. This spacious room also offers entertainment with Sky TV, music system, and a full size table football.
The terrace and kitchen
Patio doors lead out from the ballroom onto the terrace offering outdoor space for entertaining with a built in BBQ and truly stunning views. The fully equipped modern kitchen leads off from the lounge creating an extensive open plan area.

The property is popular throughout the year, offering comfortable and unique accommodation by the sea. The ocean views remain beautiful and everchanging whatever the weather.
